This club is named after the defense “Pirc (ECO B07-B09)”
The defense is named after Vasja Pirc, a Slovenian chess player (one of the best players of the 20th century) who was a Yugoslavian chess champion 4 times, the defense pirc’s principal idea is to let white pieces control the center and later attack it and control it for most of the game. The Pirc defense is my favorite because it’s not super difficult to use but, it can be very useful and give you tons of possibilities of attacks.
