About Me

My name is Daksh Nayak. I am a 13-year-old chess player and coach from Boston, Massachusetts, USA. I have been playing chess competitively for over three years. In that time, I have amassed an online rating of about 2150 and a USCF rating of nearing 1500. Perhaps my greatest moment was when I defeated Fide Candidate Master Joseph Perl (~2100 USCF) in an over-the-board match. Even as I continue to grow as a player, I will offer my coaching services to players in need. Aside from chess, I enjoy sports, music, and spending time with family.

Lesson Plan

I offer weekly lessons in English to players of all ages and skill levels. They typically last 1 hour and are conducted through Chess.com's classroom feature. I now EXCLUSIVELY offer 1 FREE trial lesson, as well as the first month 50% OFF after registration. During our first lesson, we review and analyze the student's games for mistakes. Then, we create a specialized coaching plan appropriate for the player and their rating. Here's what a typical session may include (which may be adjusted for the individual student):

Why Choose My Coaching?

As apposed to other coaches, my training offers certain advantages. These include pricing, my player identity, personalization, resources, scheduling, etc. Our rate is very competitive, topping out at $15 per hour. This is much lower than others. Also, as a young player, I may be more relatable and accessible to children and teens. I have climbed the rating ladder from a similar position to them, as a peer. My lessons are specifically targeted towards the individual. We analyze games and choose a path based on the inaccuracies seen. When purchasing my training, players also receive resources. These include the "Insightful Chess" blog, my club "The Advisors of Chess", and exclusive resources such as opening prep, newsletters, and simuls. And to cap it off, scheduling is lenient. With a busy schedule, it can be difficult to make every lesson. That is why all classes can be rescheduled to another time free of charge.
